Just when you thought fall was all about variations of wine and shades of raisin, something unexpected happens. This season cosmetic lines are ushering in something new: soft, muted shades that range from icy cool to desert warm. So a few weeks ago I set out to find one of the hottest collections that was all the rage in the September issues. But much to my dismay, between 2 malls and 6 levels, I couldn’t find it. “I see, so it’s only sold online?” Geesh! It almost put a damper in my Saturday afternoon. That is until I happened upon the NARS counter.
It was there that I discovered that the other cosmetic’s line is not the only won with hot fall colors. If you have been sleeping on NARS nail collection, wake up! This season Nars puts a twist on shades of metal. That’s right, the new collection features, Full Metal Jacket– a blue/gray, not quite steel and a hue or two lighter than slate. Mash is a bright sun-twinged gold and then there’s King Kong-a rich copper penny. This collection is futuristic,earthy and yes, very pretty. I like all the colors, but I find that the Gun Metal Gray is a nice compliment to whatever grays and platinum designs that are still in fashion this season. NARS Nail Polish ($16).
