Hats off to model Joan Smalls on being named the new face of Estee Lauder. A native of Puerto Rico, Smalls will be featured in ads for cosmetics and skin care. Smalls has walked the runways for designers such as Versace, Marc Jacobs and Prada. With her new appointment, Smalls, 21, goes from runway model to role model.
“I plan to bring [women] confidence, so they accept themselves the way they are,” said Smalls. “I am looking forward to creating beautiful images and empowering women.”
It’s great to see more brands recognizing and featuring global beauty in their ad campaigns. Hopefully this will result in an expansion of their product offerings. Congratulations to Smalls! Way to go Estee Lauder.
