Beauty Marks: Georgia NYC

I’d heard so much about this new boutique called Georgia that I had to make a trip for myself.  Stepping into their door way, I left Manhattan behind and was immediately transported to a bygone era.  I stood in the middle of this boutique amazed at the decor that placed me in the boudoir of great aunts, grandmothers and sister friends.  I could almost smell the heady perfumes and hair grease.  And I’m sure the hot comb was not my imagination.

It was as if I was seeing the top of their vanities for the very first time.  Except now I was able to play in all the potions, lotions, creams and fragrances that enhanced the beauties that they were.  There was so much to choose from that I didn’t know where to begin.  That’s when a sweet smell of citrus brought me back to the present.  That’s when I learned that there’s more to Georgia than meets the eye.

They not only sell a fabulous array of products, they are the makers of the luxury brand, Georgia by G & Company. That delightful smell was their Gold Luxury Lemongrass Eucalyptus Skin Cream.  An all over moisturizer, this is a rich and creamy treat for your skin.  What I love about the brand is their philosophy: beauty is simple.  That means they only use the purest ingredients, home remedies and plant extracts to create luxury products that nourish you. And that’s not all.

This is not only a boutique, it is also a salon.  So you can purchase products but also make an appointment for styling.  I had to smile at that.  After all, isn’t that what those aunties did way back when.  Home was a place to nourish, treat, and connect with family and sister friends, often in the name of beauty.  Next time you’re in NYC, Georgia is definitely a beauty mark you cannot miss.
