Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show (Video)

Harlem’s Fashion Row topped off fashion week last Friday evening with the 4th annual fashion show at Rose Hall in Lincoln Center! The event showcases the collections of burgeoning designers-Onyenauchea Nwabuzor, Kellia Rogers, Joseph Bethune, and Jakia Handy. They did not disappoint. But before the models hit the runway, the crowd got a chance to hear from some of the fashion legends and culturalist who were present.  Audrey Smaltz, Bethann Hardison, June Ambrose, Tyson Beckford, Emil Wilbekin, Michaela Davis, Donna Williams of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Harlem’s Fashion Row founder, Brandice Henderson took to the stage.

One of the more touching moments came from celebrity stylist, June Ambrose, who was honored at the event.  During her acceptance Ambrose spoke about feeling, “full, honored, and…blessed.”  The stylist went on to explain that she also felt “responsible” for those who would come into the world of fashion after her.  Model Tyson Beckford was also honored.

This was a fashionable and lovely evening.  The collections were bold, bright, and edgy.  Already I’m looking forward to Spring.  For more coverage of the HFR event and to learn about the designers, visit CentricTV.com.  More video and  pics from the event, below.
