Naturally Fab Blogalicious!

Denise, Blogalicious ’11

I’ll be the first to admit that ever since embracing my natural curls, I’ve been a one-hit wonder!  That is, I try new products, but not new styles.  I’ve never done a twist out, a lock, a pompadour, or even a puff!  So I’m always intrigued when I see other women with their hair in various stages of curls or twists.   Whether it’s big curls or a T.W.A. (teeny weeny afro) I can’t help but admire.  So I snapped a few pics of a few Blogalicious ’11 attendees who were representing for the curly crew.

Nerfetite Nguvu, Flavor Unit

Nefertite of Flavor Unit has the cutest tiny coils, which immediately caught my attention.  But now, I wish I’d asked her what shade of lipstick she was wearing.  Isn’t that hot?!

LaWanda Amaker, LA Beauty Beat

When I first met LaWanda at Blogalicious three years ago, I had long abandoned relaxer, but had yet to wear (or even see) what my natural curls looked like.  I was flat ironing my hair regularly.  As soon as I saw her, I knew that’s what I wanted my hair to be when it grew out.  That was October.  By January, I was officially a curly girl.  Check out her site, LA Beauty Beat!

Erika of Blulabel Bungalow

I love her site, and now that we met I like her style.  Erika of Blulabel Bungalow keeps it nice & curly!

Jacqueline J. Holness, author

Coily Locks! Author, Jacqueline J. Holness had quite a few admirers with this ‘do.  I had to stand in line to get a shot!

Blogger In The Making, Nicole Murray

Nicole Murray

I had to get a snapshot of this style coming and going.  Blogger -in-the-making, Nicole Murray adds a bit of flair with a flower.  Lovely!

Janesia Simmonsof Divas, MPH

Maaden Eshete of Divas, MPH (Making Our People Healthier)

These two health divas were a naturally dynamic duo!

Ananda Leeke (Digital Sisterhood)

I met Ananda at the very first Blogalicious conference in Atlanta and she’s been inspiring me (and others) without letup.  A departure from her signature upsweep, she lets her locs flow!

Media Mingle Associate, Zerline Hughes, and LaWanda Amaker

The ladies of Media Mingle hosted a brand/blogger mixer and managed to look fabulous all the while.

Blogalicious '11 Attendee

I had quite a few “Let’s talk about hair” moments at Blogalicious ’11.  With this attendee, I got the 411 on the twist out and I just might try it.

I know, right? Almost half of the ladies at Blogalicious 2011 were “natural” (hair, that is). I made a comment about it to my roommate who has been wearing her hair natural for over a year now. There are so many different and attractive ways to style natural hair and you gave a great overview of it here.

@Kathy Thanks! I noticed it too. And I could only capture a few of them. They are going to make me finally venture out and try something different.
