Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn Talk Scandal on GMA

This morning Kerry Washington discussed all things Scandal—including fashion— live on GMA alongside co-star Tony Goldwyn (President Grant). Steamy love scenes, betrayal, fixing scandals, and high fashion.  Does it get any better?  It’s Olivia Pope’s style that has everybody talking!  Every week I, like most of you, am wondering WWOW (What Will Olivia Wear) and where can I get it? They even touched on the men’s fashion.  Which, hadn’t escaped my notice by the way.  GMA spoke with Scandal’s costume designer Lyn Paolo. I had the pleasure of interviewing Paolo during Scandal’s first season, you can read that interview here.

To get Olivia Pope’s look, Paolo suggests getting a great jacket and having it tailored.  She says it doesn’t have to be expensive but if you get it tailored to fit your body, you are 50 to 60% on your way to having Olivia Pope’s style.  So the question is, how do you find a tailor that’s right for you without breaking the bank.  Below are a few places you may want to check out.

  • Department Stores. When you buy from major department stores such as Macy’s or Nordstrom, they will do basic alterations at no cost.
  • The Cleaners. Your local cleaners will usually have a tailor on-site and the prices should be reasonable.
  • Fabric Stores.  This is an excellent place to find a seamstress who can take in your clothes for that perfect fit.

As for the show, after two weeks of re-runs, tomorrow night is a new episode of Scandal.  Last time Edison proposed to Olivia after confronting her about her relationship with the President.  Meanwhile, President Grant told Mellie he wanted a divorce.  Personally, I think Edison is helping the Vice President conjure up something.  What do you think is the next move in this love rectangle?  And who is going to do something about Hollis and VP?

Scandal airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
