Gabrielle Union appears on the September issue of Essence magazine, sporting her signature long locks and looking quite happy, I might add. She talks to Essence about how she is living her life, her new TV show, and that internet rumor that just won’t die–you know the one. Well, that’s why at Rainy Day Diva we celebrate the good, raise a brow to the questionable and flat out ignore the foolishness.
It seems that Gabrielle isn’t the only celebrity who’s sick, tired, and quite offended by the blog mill. Just recently on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss let it be known that she has had it up to her highlights with folks saying negative things about her relationship. Contrary to popular opinion, the money and the fame don’t compensate for the venom and falsehoods that are dished out. I’ve listened to celebrity news, the blogs and water cooler talk and often wondered how celebrities deal with the constant speculation and opinions (from strangers nonetheless) on their personal lives-I mean they do have families and they are people. I’ve seen how much havoc rumors and gossip can cause in the most ordinary lives, especially in the office.
Hopefully you haven’t been affected by the rumor mill since middle school, but if so, how did you handle it?
Today’s Quote:
“Dispel the negative.”
