Comedian Steve Harvey can now add reporter to his resume. Good Morning America has added Steve Harvey to their ranks as a contributor to a lifestyle segment that focuses on relationships. I was really excited to hear about this. Not just because I listen to the Steve Harvey Morning Show or because I so enjoyed his book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man (29 weeks on the Best Seller list), but because this just goes to show what happens when you step out and do something different. I think GMA is definitely making a bold move here and a good one. Steve offers a lot of good advice and encouragement on his show and this gives him an opportunity to expand his audience. Harvey’s first segment was on whether or not men and women can just be friends. Steve says no. You can view the segment, by clicking the link below.
Can Men and Women Be Just Friends?
I know I’m going in a different direction with this, but friendship has been a hot topic in my circle lately. I know a lot of women who don’t want their significant others having female friends. Some of these same women (due to fear of DL brothers) aren’t crazy about their men having a lot of male friends. Can you really be everything to your partner? Doesn’t that leave men at a loss for the emotional growth we so want them to have? Not to mention the need for the bond of male friendships. As women, we are always talking about “our girls”, don’t men need to bond also? Are these concerns valid or are we over reactingJust asking. What do you think?
Today’s Quote:
Most people are not successful because they don’t have a plan. It needs to be written down. It then becomes your blueprint. Your roadmap.
