If you thought that hats were only worn by traffic cops and church ladies, you are seriously out of fashion. Hats have always been in style for those who want to make a statement and special occasions. When you consider that shoes are an obsession for throngs of women, both real and fictitious, (Carrie Bradshaw, anyone?)coupled with the meteoric rise of designer handbags to the top of the fashion “it” list, hats have had a time making headway. However, all of that is about to change. New York Milliner, Eugenia Kim, is bringing hats back in a big way. Not only is she designing some of the hottest styles, but she has partnered with Target to bring her chic head liners to the masses.
Beginning April 18 you can find her designs in Target’s style boutique. Partnering with Target places Kim among a cadre of talented designers including Zac Posen and Isaac Mizrahi. I come from a family that appreciates a beautiful hat, be it for Sunday morning, a summer night, or a handsome man in a Fedora, so I will definitely make a trip to Target a.k.a. Targé.
Eugenia Kim discusses her career as a designer and bringing her Cuban-inspired high fashion designs to Target, here.
