So I’m still here in Miami at Blogalicious10 and I am having a wonderful time. But there’s another sort of excitement brewing for me. Tomorrow, I’m going to see El DeBarge in concert. You want to scream, right? I know. I just love his music. I remember so clearly begging my parents to take me to see DeBarge when they opened for Luther Vandross back in the day. I clearly remember the look of disbelief on my father’s face as I squealed and jumped around in my seat. Thank goodness all the cups in the Richmond coliseum were made of paper, because I would have shattered glass. And so now, here I am on the cusp of seeing El himself again.
He’s been through quite a bit while he’s been under the radar. And you all know there is absolutely nothing that Rainy Day Diva loves more than a comeback, a come up and a “how you like me now”. I’m telling you I just feel so special, because in all truth I was buying a ticket for another concert, Mary…Mary…Oh yeah, Mary J. Blige. And i”m telling you I have been wanting to see her since What’s The 411? and it had just never happened. So I went to buy my ticket and saw El’s name, and now I can’t even remember what Mary what’s her name sings. But I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
