This past weekend was the Circle Of Sisters event in NYC and yours truly was at the Bali Intimates booth. This was an exciting weekend. Amidst all the activity, fun and celebrities, there was this energy and innovation at the Bali booth. I was there with the Bali team and a group of fabulous bloggers that included Afrobella, MissVaughnTV, FloreDeFashion, and VivaFashion. But the buzz was because of the designs hands down. I got fitted for shapewear and didn’t want to take it off. Here’s why.
Bali Intimates has teamed up with Lycra. Together, they’ve used fabric technology (yes, there is such a thing) and made some fashionably strategic advances in shapewear. That’s the scientific way of saying, these designs are hot! They look good, and they get the job done. Let me just tell you what happened behind-the-scenes in my dressing room.
I went in, wanting the high-waist brief because that’s my go-to. But with a little urging the Bali representative, Kateland, convinced me to try the new tank. Now I was hesitant, because “the girls”, my girls need room. And the last thing I wanted was the sausage casing look. But I took a leap of faith and tried it anyway.
I was amazed. The tank minimized my minimizer. Meaning, I looked svelte, buxom and womanly in the best way possible. At the same time, the fused panel of lycra in the front targeted my tummy. So it was an all-over shaping which was really nice. Next was the Torset-a real crowd pleaser at the Bali Intimates, Lycra fashion show and with the fellas. This is an all-in-one that will tagtet your tummy, hips and thighs, but still allows you to wear your own bra. You know what the best thing is about all of this? It’s pretty! With the right heels or robe you can go from pretty sexy to sexy glamour.
Now, I did over hear a few mischievous conversations at the workshop and fashion show. There are a few ladies who felt the designs were pretty enough to take them outside-especially the purple chemise. I’ll say this, they come in a variety of colors: purple, chocolate brown, gray, and rust; which basically eliminates the need to buy those cami’s that you wear under low-cut or sheer outfits. As for going out in them…I can see it happening for the right fashionista, but I’ll leave that for those a bit more daring than myself.
