Investing In You pt.4

Usually when we talk about investing in ourselves we immediately bristle in expectation of a list of sacrifices we’re not quite ready to make, money from our wallets or time from our schedules.  In reality being good to yourself isn’t about subtraction.  Investing in you is addition.  It’s focusing on the positive things that you add in your life instead of concentrating on the things that must go.  You simply add the good things until there is little, if any, room for your vices and bad habits.

So for example, you can decide to center your conversations around positive things until there is no room for negativity and gossip.  If you added so many good things to your diet (fruits, vegetables, organic foods) you’d have far less room or appetite for foods that don’t nourish your body.   Filling our lives with new meaningful experiences will eventually crowd out room for the baggage we carry.  If you want to make positive changes in your life, you’ve first got to make positive changes in your thinking.  Focus on what you want.  Perception is key.

Today’s Quote:

“Everyday as I live, I try to think positive.”  Luther Vandross (Any Love)
