I Adore U

Back to Monday already.  The last few weeks have been hectic for me and it won’t slow down between now and January 1.  I’m currently in the midst of a redesign of this blog- which is an altogether exciting and nail-biting experience. I plan to unveil Rainy Day Diva’s new look just shy of the new year. In the meantime I want to say “Thank You” to all of you who continue to click on over, in spite of my being a bit hit or miss lately.  Believe me, there’s more to come. So while I’m tweaking and fine tuning the site, I thought I might share a bit from my most recent adventures.  Yes, I saw Mr. Royal Badness himself- Prince, just this past week.

This is my first time posting a video that I shot myself, so please pardon my unsteady hand.  I was determined not to look through the lens (what a way to film, right?), but I always want to experience the concert through my own eyes, so I wasn’t looking.  I’m sure I’ll get better with time.  The concert was phenomenal.  After the concert I was convinced that Prince patented the “it” factor himself.  He doesn’t just have “it”, he owns “it”.  He has “cool” in spades!!

I counted four outfit changes (not one was purple, but I wore that color for him) and believe me he worked it out.  Esparanza Spalding and Lala Hathaway opened for him, both ladies later returned for a duet.  Spalding sang If I Was Your Girlfriend with him, while Hathaway followed with Diamonds and Pearls and Sometimes It Snows In April.   According to Prince, no two shows will be alike.  He’ll have different opening acts and I believe he’ll do different songs.  Just two nights later he was joined by Sheila E. Which is why I’m going to have to see him again.

Both videos are only a partial performance.  For Kiss, I was so into what his performance that I forgot to record until the last 30 seconds or so (LOL!).  And for the record, that is not me singing in the background.  But here goes.  For all of you who keep rolling with the clique, (including those of you in the UK, France, Canada), I see you and I adore you.  Thank you for joining me on my blog journey.

Let me know if you went to the concert or what’s your favorite Prince song.
