B2M: Behind The Scenes + Brow Video

Selita Ebanks for Allure 3/11

Now that the fashion and award season is officially over, we can return to our regularly scheduled posting.  Specifically the post on thriving after a break up.  You’ may have heard the expression love is in your eyes, well so is sadness. It’s perfectly OK to be sad for a time. After all you’ve been disappointed. But the key is not to make it a part of your look. Don’t wear heartache!

A good cry is cleansing, but excessive tears will only reap puffy eyes and fine lines. Don’t give in to every inclination to weep. Keep a list of things that automatically make you smile, laugh or redirect your focus and refer to it often. After all, how will bags under your eyes help this situation? Exactly.

Recommit to an eye care routine. Nourish the delicate skin under your eyes. Try L’Oreal’s Youth Code Eye Serum. I’ve added this to my routine and I love it. Not only does it give me that well rested look, but at just under $30, it’s affordable.

Anger will age you, wreak havoc on your brows and increase tension in your face-not cute. When you find yourself scowling, get moving. Exercise releases endorphins that will make you feel better. If you can’t do cardio at the moment, breathing exercises and stretches can be done discreetly. You don’t need to do the downward dog or full on yoga poses to elongate your muscles and release tension.

Meanwhile, get your brows done. Just remember that the golden arches shape is only for McDonald’s. Please, don’t do that to yourself. Seek a professional to find the shape that is best for you.  Check the tutorial below from Birch Box to see what you should expect. Nothing beats a well-groomed brow, believe me.

Finally, check your posture. The way you carry yourself literally, changes how you feel. Shapewear is designed to give you a smooth silhouette, but somehow you can’t help but stand a little taller when you’re essentially being pulled in. Bali debuted a new line last fall with celebrity stylist, June Ambrose, in almost every style imaginable.

Last, but not least, keep your head up! No one can see your pretty smile when you’re looking down.
